Countdown to Contentment ~ Day 25

Loving ourselves and life from where we are ...

Day 25

I’m counting down to contentment beginning today. My heart soars when I think about this new offering and the creation of sacred community.

If you don’t know what I’m referring to, it’s my new sacred journey course, “Creating a Life of Contentment,"  which begins Sept. 15. For one entire year we will travel together as intimate companions: to relax, let go and rest into Love; to discover the bliss of our own life. You can learn all about it here.

Beginning today, and for the next 25 days, until our community convenes, I will be posting some brief thoughts and invitations around Contentment.

Here is the first. 25 days and counting. Here we go!

Contentment. What does it really mean?

Satisfaction, gratification, fulfillment, happiness, pleasure, cheerfulness, ease, comfort, well-being, peace, equanimity, serenity tranquility

Close your eyes, take a breath and then read this list of contentment words again.

Pick one that speaks to you.

Does it stir touch your heart?

Does it fully express your deepest longing for yourself and your life?

Do you want to experience more of it right now?

Write your word on an index card, on your calendar, in your day planner, on a sticky note for the dashboard of your car, your bathroom mirror, or computer monitor. Post it where you can see it—often!

Allow it to be your highest intention for yourself. Invite it to be “the wind beneath your wings” as you move through your day.

Believe that this quality of being already lives within you. You simply need to know this is possible—then put the pieces in place that will help you make it an everyday reality.

Contentment is your birthright and your destiny. May you know this to be true for you.

"I am shaken with gladness;
My limbs tremble with joy;
My heart and the earth
Tremble with happiness;
The ecstasy of life
Is abroad in the world."

Fulfillment, that is what I seek, period.

I love this focus on contentment. I'm one of the most contented people I know and grateful for that sense. I believe in the Buddhist tenet of "Want less, suffer less."

Celia, fulfillment, love it. Other words for this: satisfied, happy, pleased, untroubled, at peace. Does this fit for you?

And very glad you have enrolled in the course! It will be a phenomenal year. :-)

Rose, I appreciate your perspective. Often it is our inner urgings to be more, do more, have more that creates difficulties for us. I am very glad you are contented. :-)

So "at ease" and "well-being," Sheryl. You do sound like you are overflowing with gratitude. :-) I am blissfully happy to be journeying again with you as well. Love, love...
