Loving ourselves and life from where we are
I’m counting down to contentment — to the starting date of my new sacred journey course,“Creating a Life of Contentment," which begins Sept. 15. For one entire year we will travel together as intimate companions: to relax, let go and rest into Love; to discover the bliss of our own life. I hope you will join me! You can learn all about it here.
Focusing
With our thoughts we make the world.
~The Buddha
“The outer world of circumstance shapes itself to the inner world of thought...” ~ James Allen
“What we think about expands.” ~ Author unknown
I am keenly aware that what I focus on is not only magnified in my awareness, but it grows, taking root in the world. Thought becomes reality.
Cases in point.
• When I wanted to get more serious about meditation, I created a 30-day plan for it and focused on a different form of meditation each day. By the end of the month, I had shifted my perception about and relationship with meditation—something I had been truly struggling with. I could now meditate. For years I thought I could not.
• When I wanted to feel more joy in my life, I launched a 30-day “Journey into Joy” at my old blog. I was astounded to discover that after a four-week sojourn with joy, it had moved into the guest bedroom of my heart and was there to stay.
I am finding the same is true of Contentment. Since launching this countdown a few weeks ago—writing about it here each day—I am falling deeper and deeper into the arms of satisfaction and joy with what is.
What I am focusing on is continuing to expand within me once again.
I love this process. It is how the universe works. How our body/mind works. And how our soul works too.
I firmly believe what James Allen wrote in As A Man Thinketh (though I prefer the translated version for women by Dorothy J. Hulst, As A Woman Thinketh):
“The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors; that which it loves ...”
As we get closer to the launch of our year-long journey into Contentment, I hope that you too are feeling the longings of your soul, and that it is beginning to bring you that which you innately love.
To be content, peaceful, and free.
“Cherish your visions; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts; for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.”
Dorothy J. Hulst (As A Woman Thinketh)
Will you join me for the "Creating a Life of Contentment" course beginning soon? 7 days and counting to the sacred journey of a lifetime!
